Home Meal Deliverer

Position: Temporary Home Meal Deliverer (15 hours per week)
Division: Nutrition
Worksite: Brownsville Center – $8.01 hr. plus Mileage
Essential Functions: Deliver hot meals to homebound elderly on a daily basis using own vehicle. Grasps vehicle steering wheel and steers for intermittently periods. Communicates with client daily. Becomes acquainted with client by daily contact. Reports to supervisor any abnormal conditions observed at clients’ home. Properly complete all required/requested reports. Reports by telephone all meals not delivered. Lifts, carries, and holds up to 20 lbs. of food canisters and drink containers.
Other Job Functions: Crouches, stoops, grips and grasps with hands for short periods to properly handle food canisters. Works in non-air conditioned and air conditioned, heated and non-heated building, rooms, and vehicle.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Texas Driver’s License Class C and vehicle liability insurance.
Experience, Training, Knowledge, Skills: Able to exercise tact and diplomacy. Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish. Must have acceptable driving record to the agency’s insurance company. and Skills: Able to hold, lift, carry, and push 20-30 lbs. at a time.

Housing Project Manager

Position: Temporary Housing Project Manager (40 hours per week)
Division: Housing
Worksite: Casa #2 – McAllen
Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Housing Management Department Director performs a variety of social service functions to assure the resident’s needs are met according to Housing objectives. Do related work as required. Interviews residents to assess needs. Develops socials services programs to assist the residents lives independently. Works directly with residents to assure housing social services are met. Conducts meetings and training sessions to educate residents on their rights and responsibilities, volunteer programs and informal support networks. Ensures residents are receiving and are aware of the services available to them. Provides care management for each resident and maintains documentation on residents data.
Other Job Functions: Travel throughout the 3-County area of Cameron, Willacy and Hidalgo using own vehicle. Travel out of state as required. In the absence of the Van Driver, assist with the driving according to the transportation schedule. Assist in the Center’s day to day activities, maintains accurate records of the daily meals in distribution an submits monthly log on services, activities, and volunteer rosters to Housing Management Department Director. Jointly with the Housing Management Department Director prepares the monthly calendars of activities, assists the Tenant/Center Councils with their fund raising activities and its record keeping documentation. Monitors daily collection, documentation of the donations and safeguards of its record keeping. Monitors that all participants maintain compliance with the Agency’s code of Conduct. Assist the Housing Management Department Director on preparing purchase orders and documentation on compliance with the purchasing policy, monitors the day to day safety, and sanitation and security of the Center.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Texas Driver’s License Class C and vehicle liability insurance. Must possess reliable transportation
Experience, Training, Knowledge, Skills: Some experience in the delivery of social services to senior citizens and non elderly disabled is needed. Knowledge of social services and community resources available in the community. Interpersonal skills required. Ability to plan and implement programs. Must have supervisory and communication skills.

Center Manager
Position: Temporary Center Manager(40 hours per week)
Division: Nutrition
Worksite: Mission Center
Essential Functions:  

  1. Manages and monitors the provisions of the daily congregate and home delivered meals transportation, and social services and social, recreational, educational, and health-related activities to participants at and through the Center.
  1. Provides daily direct immediate supervision, motivation, and leadership to home meal deliverers, volunteers, and participants.
  2. Provides the appropriate information, training, and technical assistance to the Center staff, volunteers, Advisory Council, and participants.
  3. Provides the daily record keeping documentation, and filing of the Center participant services and activities and staff, volunteers, and Advisory Council information.
  4. Prepares and submits the monthly logs and/or documentation on the Center participant services, activities, and personal information and bi-weekly or monthly staff and volunteer information through the Senior Nutrition Center Director as applicable, to the agency Central Office.
  5. Prepares and submits the monthly check(s) on funds collected at the Center for the agency and such funds’ respective reports and documentation through the Senior Nutrition Center Director to the agency Central Office.
  6. Prepares and implements a monthly calendar of Center activities for the participants.
  7. Plans, schedules, and attends the regular monthly Center Advisory Council Meeting; witnesses the financial and non-financial reports to the Center participants and the documentation of such meeting’s minutes by the Council at such meeting.
  8. Prepares the appropriate record keeping, documentation, and filing of the Center inventories of supplies, equipment, furniture, and other assets.
  9. Prepares the Center daily necessary purchase orders and documentation in compliance with the agency Purchasing Policy and Procedures.
  10. Contacts community-at-large profit and non-profit entities and individuals to mobilize financial and non-financial resources for the Center and/or agency.
  11. Monitors the daily activities of the Center staff, volunteers, Advisory Council, and participants.
  12. Monitors the daily collection, counting, recordkeeping, documentation, and safeguard of the Center participant and public-at-large donations and in-kind contributions to the Center or agency and the Center fundraising projects and activities.
Other Job Functions:
  1. Plans, organizes, and implements Center fundraising projects and activities.
  2. Attends and represents the Center at meetings and/or conferences as assigned.
  3. Performs the tasks assigned in the agency traditional and special events and activities.
  4. In the absence of Home Meal Deliverer, performs meal deliveries and ensures the prepared meal is delivered to homebound elderly in hand and/or face to face at all times.
  5. Performs other related work as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License:
  1. Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Class C Operator Texas Driver’s License.
  3. Personal vehicle for travel to conduct agency-related business.
  4. Personal vehicle liability insurance.
  5. Insurable driving record.
  6. Must pass a background check as required by agency.
 Experience, Training, Knowledge, and skills:
  1. At least one (1) year of experience in human service-related work, preferably in the provision of elder services and activities.
  2. At least one (1) year of experience in the supervision of other personnel.
  3. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively verbally and in writing in English and Spanish.
