Home Meal Deliverer

Position: Home Meal Deliverer(15 hours per week)
Division: Nutrition
Worksite: Elsa Center
Essential Functions: Deliver hot meals to homebound elderly on a daily basis using own vehicle. Grasps vehicle steering wheel and steers for intermittent periods. Communicate with clients daily. Becomes acquainted with client by daily contact. Reports to supervisor any abnormal conditions observed at clients’ home. Properly complete all required/requested reports. Reports by telephone all meals not delivered. Lifts, carries, and holds up to 20 lbs. of food canisters and drink containers.
Other Job Functions: Crouches, stoops, grips and grasps with hands for short periods to properly handle food canisters. Works in non-air conditioned and air conditioned, heated and non-heated building, rooms, and vehicle.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Texas Driver’s License Class C and vehicle liability insurance.
Experience, Training, Knowledge, Skills: Able to exercise tact and diplomacy. Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish. Must have acceptable driving record to the agency’s insurance company. and Able to hold, lift, carry, and push 20-30 lbs. at a time.

Maintenance Supervisor

Position: Maintenance Supervisor(40 hours per week)
Division: Housing
Worksite: Casa #9 -Mission
Essential Functions: Maintains inventory of assigned supplies, equipment and material. Completes and submits required reports and documentation. Repairs and performs needed repairs to housing units and buildings. Conducts and documents job safety training and on an on-going basis. Inspects equipment, and premises regularly to prevent and eliminate accidents and assure grounds, buildings, and units are clean at all times. Will perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and which will assist in the provision of services to the tenants. Crouches, stoops, grips, and grasps tools with hands for periods of half an hour or more. Lift and carries items weighting 50 lbs or more.
Other Job Functions: Mows lawns, trims hedges, removes weeds and trims the project grounds. Monitors maintenance budgets, may supervise  maintenance worker.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must possess Texas Class C Education:     Drivers License and a reliable vehicle. Completion of trade skills/vocational training highly desirable. Bilingual (English & Spanish).
Experience, Training, Knowledge, Skills: Three (3) years experience in maintenance work to include electrical, plumbing, grounds upkeep and carpentry repairs to housing units and/or buildings. Must have an acceptable driving record to corporation’s insurance company. (Must possess personal auto liability insurance). Supervisory experience to include employee training and job safety. Must be able to perform inventory of supplies and equipment. Able to properly lift and carry 50 lbs at a time. Must have a home telephone. Must reside in the surrounding area. Must be willing to work on weekends.

Maintenance Worker

Position: Maintenance Worker(40 hours per week)
Division: Housing
Worksite: Casa #2 -McAllen
Essential Functions: Paints interior and exterior walls and trims, using paint and painting tools. Mows lawns, waters project plants, prunes shrubs and trees and maintains project grounds free of debris and keeps sidewalk edges trimmed. Advises the Maintenance Supervisor of faulty equipment and/or hazardous conditions. Replaces defective electrical switches and other fixtures, paints structures, and repairs woodwork with carpenter’s tools. Repairs plumbing fixtures. Installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood. Drives to pick up and deliver items. Will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Other Job Functions: Crouches, stoops, grips and grasps with hands for periods of 1/2 hour or more. Lifts and carries items weighing 50 lbs. or more. Builds and repairs benches, floors, doors, windows, and screens. Dusts, mops, sweeps, and removes trash from office and activity center as required. Stands and walks on concrete sidewalks, tile floors, concrete floor, and works in non-and in air conditioned, heated and non-heated building and rooms.
Required Education, Degrees, Certificates, and/or License: High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance work and grounds upkeep. Must have valid Texas Driver’s License. Must have a driving record acceptable to the Corporation’s insurance carrier. Must have reliable transportation and must have personal liability insurance.
Experience, Training, Knowledge, Skills: Must have experience in electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs. Must have knowledge on the proper use of hand and power tools. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. or more.
